SUMMARY
Conflicts may arise with an employee's affiliations with other organizations and the potential, or the appearance of the potential, that the employee could use his or her University position authority/responsibility to make self-serving decisions. Such situations are defined in the CSU Conflict of Interest policy as well as the Conflict of Commitment and Consulting Policies. See Provost Office website, Resources for Faculty and Administrative Professionals; Academic Faculty and Administrative Professional Manual, Sections D.7.7 and D.7.6), and the Sponsored Programs Principal Investigator’s Manual (Section XII).
Faculty and Administrative Professionals are required to complete the Annual Role and Responsibility Survey form upon initial employment, and annually by May 15, as well as updating the form whenever there is a change to the individual's commitments. Note: Principal Investigators and others involved in U.S. Public Health Service agency-funded projects must also comply with the FCOI Policy referenced below.
